What you need to know.

Welcome to an entirely new experience. As you know, our commitment is to the owners of our motorcycles. And whether you just purchased one of our latest year model motorcycles or one of our previous models, we're excited to welcome you to the family.

As a new owner, there are a few things we think you know to help make the most of your experience as a Ridley Owner.

  1. Regular Maintenance is very, very important. Whether it's an oil change or transmission service, we strongly recommend following the recommended intervals. Below is a short list of recommendations.
    • Before every ride, perform the pre-ride inspection.
    • After the first 500 miles, perform the 500 Service. This includes an oil change, inspection and adjustments that are critical.
    • Every 2000 miles, change the oil and oil filter. Service transmission drive and driven clutch.
    • Every 6000 miles, replace the transmission belt.
  2. We strongly recommend using Genuine Ridley parts and accessories. Not because we're greedy, but because our engineers test and approve the products we offer.
  3. Never over fill your fuel tank. When fuel heats up it expands which can cause it to overflow from the vented gas cap (right side cap on Auto-Glides). Ridley recommends leaving at least four inches in the fuel tank when filling. Fuel and Paint are not friendly. Fuel that sits on paint for any period of time will leave a stain and eventually cause the paint to lift. Paint that is damaged by fuel is not covered under warranty. We didn't make the paint, just the motorcycle.
  4. Resetting the trip meter on your speedometer.
    • For owners of 2006 and later models with the LED Speedo/Tach the trip may be reset. With the motorcycle stopped and the speedometer reading "0" miles/hour, press and hold the "Trip" button on the Speedometer for 15 seconds (or until three "- - -" lines appear).
    • For owners of earlier models with the LCD Speedometer, the trip meter will reset after 3 hours of inactivity. It cannot be reset manually.
  5. For Service & Maintenance, use the Service Locator to find service near you. If you find Ridley does not currently have a service center in your area, email us through the contact page. Provide us with the names and telephone numbers of shops and/or mechanics around you. We will work to sign them up as Service Centers.
  6. If you recently purchased a pre-owned Ridley, we highly recommend having the 21 point inspection performed. Ask you Ridley Dealer or Servicer for more details. You can expect 2 hours for the complete inspection.
  7. Every Ridley Auto-Glide and Speedster model have included Owner's Manuals. While these were provided to the Dealers when they were new, sometimes they don't make it to the next owner. If you are in need of an Owner's Manual, they are available at your local Ridley Dealer or at the Ridley Store.
  8. Service Manuals and Instructions for the Auto-Glide models will soon be available. The books are expected to be available in August 2008. Check your local Dealer or the Ridley Store for more information.
  9. Apparel is available! Show your support with some of Ridley's great gear. Visit your local Ridley Dealer or the Ridley Store for apparel and gear options. There are dozen's of shirts, jackets, hats, pins, stickers and more.
  10. Ridley has setup an Owners Supplies request form for items such as the Ridley Accessories Catalog, Ridley Handout Cards (a.k.a. "chicken feed"), and more. Click here to order your Owner's Supplies.
